You are new to SEO and you are trying your best to get your website to rank on Google, but you don’t even know where to start.

This is just a start of something greater than what you were practicing before. Why? Because you are actually moving towards success.

When a business creates a website, they normally stop there. That is why you are stepping into opportunity.

I am going to show you some of the most basic SEO fundamental processes that you need to get started on. This really isn’t rocket science, well at least in the beginning.

Meta Title & Description

What is a meta tag? 

Title tags and meta descriptions are bits of HTML code in the header of a web page. They help search engines understand the content on a page. A page’s title tag and meta description are usually shown whenever that page appears in search engine results.

So, how important is this for you? Well, meta titles & description are not only a way for Google to find your relevancy to a search but it is also how real life humans determine if you hold what they are looking for.

If you can keep the consistency with your Meta Title and Meta Description, you are off to a great start. Now let’s move onto H1 and H2 header tags.


H1 (Watch Your Headers)

Watch your headers? What is that even supposed to mean?

So as we just finished the Meta Title and Meta Description what you want to do next is make sure that there is consistency with you what you are actually trying to promote.

Relevancy is key when it comes to SEO and normally what I do is I keep the relevancy on point. I usually write the content first on the landing page or blog and after I write I know what I will post as my meta title and what content to place in the meta description block.

Headers are very important in SEO and Optimizing because you are giving a title to the content you are writing. If your title is consistent with your Meta title, then you are more than likely going to stand out, just as long as the content of the paragraph is consistent and relevant.

Never use more than one H1 on the same page. Why? Because your H1 header tag is the star of the show, and if you have too many stars than the show becomes diluted and then you will confuse the hell out of the Google Crawl Spiders.

So what do you do when you have multiple titles? Use H2, this will let the crawler know that you have the content you are writing about is also important and relevant.


Content is king when you are trying to rank, because if you have no content that is relevant then you give Google no reason to show you off.

Google cares the most about user experience and what people are searching. That is how Google has always maintained to be #1 as a search engine. Look at Bing.

Remember when Bing was trying to convert all of the Google users in those commercials, comparing what was easier and faster? Yeah, I’m not so sure, but I don’t see Google creating those type of ads.

Why? Because Google gives you exactly what you want, and that is what you are searching for.

This is the main reason why content is king, because of relevancy. But this isn’t the only way climbing the ranking table, this is just the start. But by doing so, this gives you a head start compared to your competitors.



I probably should have used this at the beginning of my blog, but this will work.

Keywords are the words you are targeting your audience and you know what your audience is searching.

Example: Dog Park Near Me

In this example, you will be utilizing “Dog Park” across the platform from Meta Title and create content around it in Meta Description and you will utilize “Dog Park” in the majority of sentences you will be writing.

One thing you do not want to do is Keyword Stuff. Keyword stuffing is an old blackhat trick that a lot of SEO optimizers did years ago that used to work, but they do not work anymore.

Due to Googles algorithm Hummingbird which was created to force SEO Specialist to stop forcing keywords and to create natural and quality content.


IMG Alt Tagging

Last but not least! This will help the bots who are crawling your website what image content is on your website. This is vital if you are including images on your website and it is relevant to your posting.

This is simple and I will show you how to do it with some simple code.

Also, Each image should have an alt text. Not just for SEO purposes but also because blind and visually impaired people otherwise won’t know what the image is for. A title attribute is not required. It can be useful but in most cases, leaving it out shouldn’t be much of an issue.
