It’s been about 2 months and your website still doesn’t show on Google. You are frustrated and confused because you believe you are doing everything correctly, you just paid a kid to post on your Instagram and Facebook account, you talk about it profusely and send all of your friends to visit because you think it is making a huge difference.
After realizing after two months, it isn’t working and now you don’t know what to do. This is just a start but it isn’t going to be the only way on bringing traffic to your website to collect more leads.
First, if you don’t know what SEO means and you only know it by the acronym, it’s ok… you’re not a marketing genius. SEO means “Search Engine Optimization” and what that means is; You are optimizing your website for search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines.
So, let’s get started on creating a strategy for your business.
Google My Business
What is Google My Business?
Google My Business is a way to get your business on the radar for Google. Basically, what you are doing is claiming a certain address or location and saying–hey Google I am right here! Having an account puts you on Google Maps and also gives you the opportunity to share your business information like website link, photos, ratings, hours, and specials.
How does this help my SEO?
Having your business in listings gives you a better opportunity for people to find your business.
Ok, great! What do I need to do to get started? Great question! Google offers a Step-by-Step guide by visiting this link. https://www.google.com/business/
If your business is already listed, don’t worry! Sometimes Google creates these accounts because Google wants there users to find what they are looking for when they are searching. It’s as easy as claiming. If you need help in this process we can help you with this at no charge.
What’s a backlink? A backlink is another website pointing towards your website.
How is this going to help my SEO?
This is part of off-site SEO strategies. Basically, if you have a quality company or website that has no penalties with Google and gets great traffic and it is pointing towards you than it is helping the value of your website.
The more quality websites pointing towards yours the better you are off with building your link juice.
I want to warn you, do not go and purchase fake links, that will hurt you and possibly penalize you for being part of a spammy website.
Ok, this is where it counts. You need to make sure you set up all your meta tags, meta description, keep the content consistent throughout your website do not flood your website with keyword spamming.
Keyword spamming is old tricks that don’t work and will not keep you in good standings with Google.
Writing a blog about the reality of life and what you deal with on a day-to-day basis and giving the reader an outlook on new ideas can always help to get people to share your story.
Optimize your pages to reach the audience you are targeting. A few of my favorite software I utilize to confirm how my website is doing with on-page SEO is Alexa and Moz Metrics.
Moz gives you the reality of how you are doing with the keywords you are targeting, Alexa does the same. The difference is Alexa is more robust with seeing how your competition is doing in all realms compared to you.
This is just the start of my blog but keep in touch and I will be posting more!
Don’t forget to share!
